VASTEC DIGITIZATION, DATA TRANSFORMATION, AND SECTION 508 COMPLIANT REMEDIATION NOW AVAILABLE ON GSA SCHEDULE 36

July 22, 2009

WASHINGTON: VASTEC, a provider of document digitization and automation processes, has been approved for business with the federal government via GSA Schedule 36. This is a multiple schedule contract under FSC group 36, Office Imaging and Document Solutions. VASTEC’s product offerings are now being loaded onto GSA Advantage with government sales under this contract to begin immediately.

As a premier digitization company, VASTEC creates high quality digital documents and images from all types of source material, including, paper files, books, photographs, newspapers, maps, and confidential files, such as medical and legal records. Traditional files cost money to store, are difficult to access, and have a limited shelf life. VASTEC transforms the information into searchable, password protected data that is easily searchable through a browser-based search engine.

“The power of our technology is increasingly indispensible to any agency dealing with high volumes of information,” said VASTEC’s founder and CEO Richard Salem. “The VASTEC process not only reduces storage costs, it improves workplace efficiency and productivity by taking physical and electronic documents and transforming them into fully searchable resources. Now that we have been approved for business on the GSA schedule, even more federal agencies will be able to realize these benefits.”

In addition, VASTEC specializes in Section 508 transformation and remediation. In 1998 the U.S. Congress amended the Rehabilitation Act requiring Federal agencies to make their electronic and information technology accessible to people with disabilities. In 2008 VASTEC processed more than 12 million confidential government records under strict security measures to 508 standards. These services are also available under VASTEC’s GSA Schedule 36.

Also available is VASTEC’s ECM Solution, a custom digitization and document automation process designed to meet a variety of business applications. This state-of-the-art Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system can streamline work flow, resulting in a positive return on investment (ROI). This is achieved through a reduction of the time and labor necessary when working with physical and electronic content in non-ECM environments.
