OTH SERVICES CHANGES NAME TO VASTEC
Tampa, FL, January 5, 2009 - The New Year brings a new name for a Tampa based company poised for more growth in the face of the economic downturn. On January 1st, 2009, OTH Services (OTHS) changed its name to VASTec, which is an acronym for the company's mission to provide "virtual, accessible and sustainable technologies."
While many local businesses downsized or closed for good in 2008, VASTec expanded its operation and services over the past year. The company is now located in a 17,000 square foot facility on Waters Avenue. It also has facilities in the Washington D.C. area and will soon open offices in the Midwest. With more than 100 employees and state of the art technology, "the company is poised for additional growth," says founder and CEO, Tampa attorney Richard Salem.
"Our growth stemmed from the need for wounded war fighters, returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, to have their personal health records available in an electronic, accessible format," explains the firm's group president, Sara Royer. "Federal law and many state laws require that electronic information, including health records, comply with Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act. That means if you cannot read the text, a computer will read it for you, and, if it is too small it can be enlarged," Royer says. "Regardless of your disability, the content transformed by VASTec can be easily navigated, researched, and converted into 'knowledge' without being limited by an individual's disability."
In addition to record digital transformation, VASTec prides itself on its customers having easy and full access to information on their data systems, available wirelessly. VASTec content forms a perfect picture on screens of handheld devices using a proprietary "OptiBlock" technology. The company also provides accessibility compliance, database management, website management, network management and technology services. |
