BACKGROUND
Accessibility is driven by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act requiring workplaces and information products to be accessible to the disabled. While wheelchair ramps and restroom accommodations have improved dramatically over the past 20 years, information products have lagged. In 2008 the settlement of several lawsuits regarding the accessibility of information products proves the need to increase accessibility of information and data products.
